Sen. Tom Lee's Public Records Exemption Bill Passes Unanimously

On Wednesday, Senator Tom Lee's that would prevent government agencies from releasing recordings from acts of mass violence passed unanimously in the Senate.

, inspired by last year's school shooting in Parkland that left 17 people dead, applies to photos, video, and audio that show people being killed. The bill defines a "mass violence" event as involving the deaths of three or more people, not including perpetrators. 

Senators voted 40-0 to approve the bill.

Lee claimed that the measure would helped victims impacted by such events.
